As the Lit & Art reading series makes its debut appearance at The Ivy Bookshop’s Bird In Hand location in Baltimore, I’m pleased to say I’ll be one of the featured readers.
Earl Crown, David Eberhardt, Lauren Beth Eisenberg Davis, Danuta Kosk-Kosicka, Manzar Rassouli, and I will join hosts Eric D. Goodman and Nitin Jagdish to read from our recent publications and other writings at the new bookstore/café.
The fun starts at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, and will include music by The Limestone Connection (Holly Morse-Ellington and Jason Tinney). We’ll have yummy food and good libations, including wine. We’ll also have an open mic period for you to share your own writing.
I plan to read one of my favorite scenes from my new novel Surface and Shadow. It’s a scene I enjoy reading because it sets up the mystery that drives the main character, Lydia, to uncover the truth about some of the townspeople and about herself.
If you live in the Baltimore area, I hope you’ll be there to share in the festivities. Bird In Hand is located at 11 E. 33rd St. in Charles Village.

Thanks, Eric. And thanks to you and Nitin for organizing the reading and finding such a great location.
